Kevin Eade, PhD

Senior Staff Scientist, LMRI

Dr. Kevin Eade is a Senior Staff Scientist at the Lowy Medical Research Institute.  He is currently developing stem cell technologies to study the cells of the human retina from patients afflicted with Macular Telangiectasia type 2.

Dr. Eade was previously a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Scripps Research Institute, working in the laboratory of Dr. Kristin Baldwin. There he developed a novel protocol to generate human pain sensing neurons in a dish for use in high throughput drug screening. Prior to this received his Ph.D. at the University of British Columbia studying developmental neurobiology and the manipulation of cellular identities in the adult brain by modifying transcription factor networks.
