Traci Clemons, Ph.D.

Traci Clemons, PhD, is a senior biostatistician and project leader at The Emmes Corporation, a Clinical Research Organization (CRO) located in Rockville, Maryland. Dr. Clemons is the Principal Investigator of the Age Related Eye Disease Study (AREDS), and for an industry-sponsored Phase II study of a brachytherapy system for the treatment of AMD.

She is the statistical analyst for the Collaborate Italian-American Clinical Trial of Nutritional Supplements and Age-Related Cataract (CTNS). Recently Dr. Clemons became the Principal Investigator of the coordinating center for new study of lutein and omega-3 fatty acids sponsored by the National Eye Institute – AREDS II.

Prior to joining The Emmes Corporation, Dr. Clemons worked with the Jackson Heart Study and was a postgraduate fellow associated with the AIDS Clinical Trial Group at Harvard School of Public Health.

Dr. Clemons skills include experimental design, sample definition, planning and implementation of data analyses; including survival analyses, longitudinal analyses, case-control analyses and computer-based statistical analyses and information systems for epidemiological and medical research. Her capabilities include effective leadership and participation in study scientific group meetings and effective collaboration with study investigators at all levels.
